SMS Terms and Conditions
These SMS Terms and Conditions describe how Specialist Direct (“we,” “us,” “our”) uses text messaging to support daily, as-needed operations and interactions between our clinical team and our clients. By enrolling in or using our SMS program, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Program description and types of messages
We use SMS to facilitate care coordination and service delivery. You may receive messages such as:
- Appointment reminders and scheduling updates
- Care or case status updates
- Secure link notifications to view or upload clinical images or documents
- Verification codes and account security alerts
- Technical support prompts and troubleshooting follow ups
- Service, policy, or outage notices
- Billing or administrative notifications
- We do not send marketing messages through this program
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your needs and interactions with our team. As your case load increase, so will the number of messages and interaction. Each case is unique and may require more or less messages depending for facilitation. During active coordination you may receive messages on a daily, as needed basis. In quieter periods you may receive few or no messages.
Charges
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. Check your mobile plan for details. You are responsible for any charges from your carrier.
Consent and enrollment
By replying with an opt-in keyword (YES or START), you consent to receive SMS messages from us at the mobile number you provided. Your consent is not a condition of receiving care or services.
Opt out instructions
You can opt out at any time:
- Reply STOP to end all non-required SMS from us
- We also recognize END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, and QUIT
- After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming your choice. To re-enroll, contact us or reply START at any time

Privacy and security
- SMS is not a fully secure channel. We limit protected health information in texts and may direct you to a secure portal or app for sensitive details.
- Do not send sensitive information by SMS. If you do, you accept the risks of transmitting that information via SMS.

Not for emergencies
SMS messages are not monitored 24×7 and are not a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
Your responsibilities
- Provide a valid mobile number that you own or control
- Notify us if your number changes or is reassigned
- Maintain device and service capabilities to receive SMS and links
Delivery and carrier disclosures
Delivery of messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and network providers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.
Eligibility and age
You must be the mobile account holder or have the account holder’s permission to enroll. By participating, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or have obtained any necessary consents from a parent, guardian, or legal representative.
Device and service requirements
You must have a text-capable device with an active mobile plan. Some messages may include links that require a smartphone and internet access.
Changes to the program or these Terms
We may modify or suspend the SMS program or these Terms at any time. If changes are material, we will notify you by SMS or other reasonable means. Your continued participation after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
